Muddy paws

Kalliope stepped out of the den with a nervous flick of her ears. The pups really could have gone out of the den a few days ago, but she just wasn't ready yet. But she couldn't keep them in the den forever. She wasn't so worried about the boys, especially not Viho, they were both big boys. She was sure they could handle themselves. She was worried about Etain though. She kept telling herself that if she could survive this well for this long blind then she was figured Etain would be okay, but it was still hard. Kalli had never pictured herself as the protective mother type, but it seemed like there was a time for everything.

She turned her head back toward the den entrance as she settled on her haunches, putting a little smile on her face. "Alright, you three, come on out! Stay close to me though, okay?" She kept her ears perked forward, listening for them as they came outside. It was fairly mild outside today and what little snow had fallen earlier was pretty much melted. Spring was just around the corner and she was glad that the cold weather was on its way out.
