I'm Left With Emptiness
The man was to be a father soon… news that, truthfully, had him nervous and excited. Of course he’d known from day one what he was doing. He was hoping to build a family with his lover, with Shiki, and teach raise their new little ones together. Young Adravendi children… the thought made Thanatos proud. Maybe his adoptive mother wouldn’t have agreed with everything about the relationship… but surely she’d be proud of him for raising a family? For being willing to protect those he cared for?
Poe was with Shiki, sticking close to his beloved and acting as a messenger between the two whenever Thanatos went on his hunts. Generally he wouldn’t have come to such a place as this… but a scent had distracted him away from his path.
Chione’s scent.
He hadn’t seen his sister in quite some time. They were hardly close… but something told Thanatos to seek her out. A caw from overhead told Thany that Poe was winging down to him. The raven came to settle on the ground near the brute, speaking up in an excited voice. “Have you caught her scent?” The raven asked, obviously speaking of Natalya’s young. It did his heart good to see that there was more than still Thanatos about… and that soon there would be a new generation.
Thanatos gave a firm nod. “I have…” His slow drawl escaped him, eyes lifting towards the direction he had scented Chione. “Go to… Shiki… I’ll… be back…” The brute lifted his head with a sigh, setting off to find his adopted sister as Poe took towards the air once more.
It didn’t take Thanatos much longer to find her. She had come to a stop, gaze towards the ground, and the brute cleared his throat, attempting to get her attention. But the question was… did she even want to see him? |
