Spring Greetings

Lionel had never been late for anything in his life. He'd always made it a point to arrive to meetings and events on time and put forth his best effort, and yet today he was a disappointment. He'd been expecting the meeting to come up now that it was spring. He and his siblings were now two years of age and old enough to hold their own ranks. He'd already talked to his father and had been offered a high position while Heather had earned her position as Princess. The idea of Archduke had excited him at first, but he couldn't quite seem to bring himself out of the hole of sadness he'd buried himself in. His wound had long since scabbed over and was healing nicely, yet that wasn't what bothered him. The fact that he hadn't gotten to the bear quick enough to save Bright Moon or Quelt was what he couldn't get out of his head. Maybe if he'd been just a bit quicker he could have helped them. Instead they were both dead and their children were orphans. He knew missing the meeting entirely would be worse than if he was late so he headed off towards the usual spot. He arrived just as Leo announced promotions for quite a few wolves including his own. His ivory colored ears flicked back against his skull in embarrassment. So far he wasn't doing a great job - being late certainly wasn't a good way to start things off. He didn't know if his father had noticed him arrive, but he flashed an apologetic look towards him anyways. Walk, "Talk" Think |
