white lies

The shadow asked a question and he opened his mouth to respond, but as he did his eyes fixed on a dandelion bobbing in the gentle wind, he must have stared at it for hours, could have if he hadn’t remembered to answer. “I’m fine.” He said without a trace of the stutter. “Fine” He said again in a soft whisper, after what must have been several minutes of silence, although he’d meant for it to be immediate. He licked his nose and grimaced at how dry his tongue felt against his nose. “I could use some water.” He muttered, before his eyes caught on the dandelion again and the uncomfortable thirst left his train of thought. He turned onto his back, rolling closer to the other male, but he was sure he wouldn’t mind. He had after all been so kind to him up to this point, he saw no reason why he would be anything but kind to him now. He yawned and was reminded of how dry his mouth felt but couldn’t quite work himself up to look for water. Maybe later. Talk |
