Kai Jarvela's demeanor brightened significantly when she didn't seem displeased at his approach. He wore a toothy grin, accompanied by a gentle wagging of his tail to show he was friendly. Slowly he would approach, pleased at the feeling of the long grasses tickling his paws and his underbelly. He enjoyed the shift in the seasons; the world was full of life now beyond anything he'd seen before, and he found himself constantly marveling at the sights all around him. The universe seemed to grow each day, and even more rapidly as he spent time on his own, away from his father -- and he wasn't complaining in the slightest.
"I'm good!" He quipped back happily, beaming at her. "I'm Kai, by the way." Introducing himself seemed the easiest, and most polite way to start a conversation with someone and he has happy to follow in the conventions he'd been taught, to possibly make a new friend.. or even just someone to talk to for a brief time. He was equally as happy with either outcome. "I was sorta hoping I might find something to eat here. Looks like somewhere I'd live if I was food. What do you think?" He let out a low chuckle as he gazed at her, wondering if she might join him on a hunt.
