Valdís twisted back sharply, trying to catch the pup in her teeth as it soared over her head but she missed. The girl scowled. Darnit. She ignored the pup that had been stunned into silence and turned to Pyralis. "Ok, come on, best two out of three!" She moved toward the den to grab another pup when she noticed how silent it suddenly seemed. It wasn't just the coyotes but the birds as well and she felt the fur stand up on the back of her neck. "Um… Pyralis, maybe we ought to go?" She had a very bad feeling and for a moment wondered if they were about to bit in the butt for their own acts of cruelty.
