He heard the squeal of a small animal and found his sister digging into a groundhog. Corentine had been the sister he hated the least, partially because he had to, Unlike Aella who couldn’t properly articulate his abuse and unlike Derecho who was far too proud, Corentine was apt to tell their mother that he was bullying her. That said, she wasn’t the brightest and was in fact the smallest, making him wonder if she was the malformed chick in the litter. He hadn’t quite grasped that there was something wrong with his siblings and that other than a few violent tendencies that was far from unbecoming of a wolf he was unscathed. His elevation above his siblings had been something he took a secret pride in, what he didn’t know however was just how true it was.
He narrowed his eyes as he watched her, seething for a reason he couldn’t quite place and cleared his throat to get her attention. He felt that same disgust he had felt for the quail but minus the empathy. He didn’t feel sorry for his sisters one bit because in his mind none of them cared for him, and if they acted in a way that would suggest otherwise they were only pretending, the same way he had pretended for Bass and Pyrrhus
