“Um, NO” He said incredulously. “That’s a groundhog.” he said as if what he were stating something obvious. “They have tons of diseases and para- paramites! Everyone knows that!” He said. He didn’t quite know what a paramite was but his mother had said they were bad even though he never payed much attention to his mother’s teachings. This degree of bullying was considerably light compared to how he had laid in to his other sisters, but his hands were tied, she was after all most likely to be a tattle tale.
He didn’t want to admit that catching a groundhog at such a young age was impressive, especially not since it was her that had caught it. “Besides, I already caught a deer All. By. My. Self" by myself.” He said proudly, raising his head. He had seen a deer carcass on his way to the quails nest, and he supposed that would serve as proof that he had in fact caught and killed a deer. He wanted to hurt his sister in some way, make her feel bad because she was, as far as he was concerned, weak.
