Turning up the heat
Regulus Anatolii Adravendi |
He padded onto the field, thoughts roving. Wolves were missing from his pack. And there was so much to do, still, where the ranks were concerned. He was glad to have seen the pack rally at the meeting and start putting together search parties for Viho and the missing children of Creed and Kavdaya. Well, at least those two were home, now.
He had chosen Laisren to come with him to witness his spar and perhaps later find one for himself afterward that Regulus could watch. He could hear his young brother behind him, and it made him glad. At least some of his siblings were still in the pack. His talk with Zuriel, however, had opened new problems. Whatever she said, the male that had hurt her would be dealt with. If not killed, then at the very least parted from his genitals. All of them.
He slowed, brought from these savage thoughts by the bright colors ahead. He stopped, gazing at the yearling ahead in surprise. If he was very certain that he hadn’t been with a female in his whole life, he would have wondered if this boy and he were related. Maybe they were… But…
He approached with a friendly woof of greeting, coming to a stop roughly five feet away from the boy. “Hello. Were you here to spar?”
His deep voice was easy and rumbling with warmth, fathomless sapphires roving curiously over the boy’s colors. Blue eyes, variations of reds and orange. A real fire child. Regulus’ own stance was that of a leader, though toned down so as not to appear threatening.
