I Prevail

Forsaken had decided to take a moment to go off near the islands where he kept the two brats he’d obtained. He doubted either would run, despite being yearlings now, thanks to the cold waters setting in. Winter… it was certainly good for something. Though ‘saken didn’t mind dealing with the cold if it meant he could go pester the two. He stretched, arching his neck and back until each gave a satisfying pop. He was pleased, and with a dark chuckle his golden gaze fixed on the water of the bay. Yes, soon he’d go check on his young charges and make sure that they were still alive. At least for now.

Forsaken took a small breath of the salty air in before stretching out on the beach. Even with winter the sun still gave off a little warmth, and he welcomed it. His mind was trailing to his own family, however, and the disappointments each of them were. Himself included. But alas, perhaps he’d run across Enigma or Paradox sometime. Maybe the news he had to share with his brother would even save him a bite or two. He snickered at the idea. Oh yes, life was good.
