The Great Escape

It had been a tough, rugged journey today. He figured it would be best to give his younger sister a rest, he couldn't afford any injuries. At least not until they snatched some land to settle down and call their own. Something awoke him from his slumber, perhaps his brotherly instincts, whatever it was he didn't know, but the swirled brute groaned as he noticed his sister's missing form. Where could she had gone off to now? Her scent was easy to follow, he knew it as well as their mother's. Sometimes Sitric felt if it wasn't for gender differences, the pair would share the same smell. They were practically inseparable after all. Of course, excluding the times Mikaela decided to sneak off from under his watchful gaze.
His Mikaela tracking skills led him to the cave, moonlight illuminating another guarding the entrance. Sitric pinned his ears back, observing the brute. He was much larger than himself, but when it came to his sibling, he would give his life for her. Without Mikaela, what was his purpose? He couldn't remember a time he wasn't constantly looking out for her. He prayed she hadn't trapped herself in the cave, but as he closed the distance between himself and the stranger his nose confirmed she had indeed ventured inside.
He approached calmly, three feet away as he tilted his cranium, posture relaxed as his gruff vocals vibrated to the large canine "Caught something?" Swedish accent thick across his tongue, he was uncomfortable speaking the foreign language, but without his sister to translate he had no choice. Ear flickered forward in curiosity, he didn't want to alarm the stranger that he might of knew the wolf inside. Perhaps they would be lucky and able to leave without a scuffle. A paw moves up to touch the gold chain which displays his souvenir. A bear tooth. He would be ready to fight, if it came down to that.
