No you don't! A flash of grey darted through the tall grasses, here, there. Loccian was hunting, and she had her target locked on. Fortunately her small body helped, light on her paws and able to squeeze between clusters of tall grass. She was able to stay behind the rabbit, close enough to where she could keep track of it but far away enough to where she couldn't make that final jump to take out the animal.

Off she was, tail streaming behind her, muscles working. The distance between her and the rabbit was growing smaller, the anticipation killing her. Tongue slipped out of her jaws and hung out the side, ears back. Suddenly it was yanked in and her neck stretched out, jaws opening wide then snapping shut. So close. The rabbit darted to the side just before her jaws made contact with it's rear.

She had a split second to make a decision, stop the chase or follow it. Forepaws touched the ground to the right of her body, body arching, back legs readjusting their position before propelling her forward, right after the rabbit. The chase would continue.

Unfortunately for her, Loccian had not been paying attention to her surroundings. She did not notice some of the grass here had been pressed down by the body of another, her mind focused only on catching this animal. And before she knew it, the shewolf lunged through a thin wall of tall grass, paws catching on a body and throwing her forward and into the ground.

She hit the ground hard, pain shooting through her chest where it had made contact with the frozen earth. She slid a foot or two into a clump of grass, her body twisting till she finally came to a stop on her side, a groan of pain slipping from her jaws as she lay there breathing heavily.
