Hunter's Fire
Paladin 'Knight' Ancora |
He’d been speaking with Kavamaya about his mother’s depression when the howl rang out. A hunt? Well, they certainly could use the food. Winter had begun, only a day or so ago, and already snow had begun to fall. Presently, it wasn’t enough to impede a hunt, but he had a feeling that it would get deeper.
He stood, turning toward the call with a nod to his aunt, saying "Ba mhaith liom dul níos fearr. Bíodh a fhios agam má thagann sí níos fearr?". Kavamaya nodded, turning back to her sister, who continued to remain unresponsive, and Paladin tore himself away, though it took a great deal of effort.
He broke into a lope as soon as he left the wooded hillock, hastening to answer the call for a hunt. As he crossed into the mists of the moorland he found the small group of wolves gathering for the hunt. A quick glance around told him that none of his siblings were here yet, nor was his father. However, the majority of the wolves here were family, even if he hadn’t caught their names yet, having only been home for a few days. Some of the faces were familiar, though. He hadn’t seen them since he was a pup at his first meeting.
He gave them a smile, tail waving in a friendly wag as he greeted, “Hello. I’m Paladin—er, you may have known me as Knight when I was a pup. What’s on the menu?” His eyes shifted to Acapella; the others seemed to be looking to her as the one who called them all to the hunt.
