I've been trying to ignore the tempts for dayssssssss -shakes fist-
Design:
#1 from bottom batch (blue/purple)
Name:
Stellaluna
Age:
1 year (born in spring)
Gender:
Female
Appearance: (I altered the design a little D: lemme know if that's a no no?)
Height: 38" Build: light
Descended from the very cosmos, the lass is dappled with opalescent freckles that resemble the very stars above. Concentrated upon her narrow shoulders and hips, they slide down her thighs and limbs ever so slightly. Yet more are caught in the thick fur of her ruff, to extend up her cheeks and underline her eyes. The rest of her body is a mottled mixture of pastel blues and purples. It seems to cascade down her flanks in variant hues, switching just when you think it begins to make any sense. Alabaster encircles her eyes, and forms perfect brow points. Beneath the dense layers of fur, the dame has even stranger flesh. Her paw pads and nose give it away, in that her skin is a brilliant, electric blue.
There is nothing impressive about Stellaluna. She bears no impressive muscles, or intimidating build. A delicate figure and relatively thin limbs are as strong as she needs them to be. Lanky legs and narrow bodice are the product of a hard won youth. Thick fur comes from a long line of northern wolves, and serves to make her appear larger than she really is. Perhaps she may have been a bigger creature, had her life been different. A high, arching neck tapers into a dainty crown. A sharp, pointed muzzle and high cheekbones are prominent features of her face, though they are hardly the first thing to be noticed. The very first thing everyone who meets Stellaluna notices, is that she is missing a hind leg. Only the wasted, atrophied meat of her thigh twitches with each step she takes.
Large eyes rimmed by long, thin lashes constantly twinkle with glee. They are a soft, pallid shade of pink. One would think they are not in keeping with the rest of her palette, but they seem to suit her perfectly.
Personality:
Guarded: Stellaluna is fearful of others, and shy. Mistrust of anyone other than her misfit family leads her to be on her guard at all times when she's by herself. While she knows that there is nothing wrong with her, others definitely do not believe this. A childhood spent as a freak and a mistake has made Stellaluna into a skittish creature. The girl knows that many will seek to harm her, and this makes her wary of strangers. She can often seem standoffish or aloof, because she will not readily admit to being afraid.
Bubbly: A giddy disposition and a love of laughter is the core of her existence. Games and gallivanting are what fills her time almost every day. The friends she has made over time have become the source of all her greatest joys. It is something she has come to love, now that she has known them. Around those she trusts, Stellaluna is a delight. Filled to the brim with jokes. Once you get through the hard, brittle armour she wears, it is easy to find the happy child she could have been. She loves to have fun. What more can be said?
Curious: The world is hers to explore and adore. The strange and wonderful are what attracts her like a moth to flame. Stellaluna wants to see the things that might remind her of home, the world among the cosmos from which she descended. The twinkling in her eyes grows with each passing day, as she sees more of the wonders this planet has to offer.
Gentle:The girl would never hurt a soul. Aside from hunting, she is not one for violence. She makes an effort not to step on flowers as she walks, and enjoys watching ducklings in ponds. Even when provoked, she will rarely, if ever, lash out to harm someone. Her voice is always soft, and her words are delicate. Each step is like that of a doe, carefully picking out where her paws would land before placing them down.
History:
Stellaluna was born into a large, amiable pack to first time parents. Accompanied by three other siblings, it became apparent that something was wrong with their child. It was not her coat that set her apart from the rest, but the deficits of her body. As she wriggled to her mother's teat, they became aware of something. Their child was born with no hind leg. Her parents knew better than to cull the child, for it would ruin the good name of their pack and family. Instead, they ignored their child. Feeding her when she cried, and letting her sleep in the den close to the entrance when it rained. Preferring their whole bodied offspring, they ostracised and ignored her.
The child grew up not knowing the love of a family. Even her siblings stuck their noses up at her, without fully knowing why. At the age of six months, a wandering band of rogues travelled into the area. By now, Stellaluna had grown accustomed to her life. She took to exploring, and found herself awed by the world she found. While the pack grew uneasy with the notion of an unpredictable group nearby, she felt only curiosity. Ambling through the woods, she sought to see them. Surely no one could mistreat her as badly as her own kin? Here, she found something strange. Many of them were like her. They all welcomed her with open arms, and she left with them without a second thought. Explaining that she was a child of the stars, as her pelt illustrated, they taught her the histories of their group.
It is with them that she enters the lands of Ardent.
RP Sample:
Awoken suddenly, sharp claws scraped across her back. The girl awoke with a startled squeal, and found her sibling tumbling across her prone form. She struggled to her feet as he chased after her brother, eyes alight with hope. Was this an invitation to play? Galloping after her siblings, the girl's blue tongue lolled from the side of her maw. As she caught up, the chase had devolved into wrestling. Stellaluna loved to wrestle! Pushing off the ground with her hind leg, she lunged into the puppy pile.
"No! No! You're not invited to play! Go away!" Her brother shrieked, teeth snapping in her direction. Her other brother flailed his limbs in an attempt to shove her away. The two of them flattened their ears and bared their teeth, growling at her to go away.
Tall audits flattened tight against her skull, she looked down at her toes. "I just wanted t-"
"Go 'way!" Her brother shouted, eyes narrowing. His tail arched up over his back, chest puffing out to assert his will over her. He didn't want her to play with them.
A soft whine pushed through her maw, and she blinked away tears. Tail tucking tightly against her rump, she awkwardly stumbled backwards. By the time she was wandering away, the wrestling had already recommenced. Evidently she had to find some new friends.
The memory washed over her in a wave. Her ears had sunk backwards, lips twisting into a frown. It had been some time since she had been foolish enough to try and play with her siblings. Delicate paws picked across the rough terrain of the tundra. The further across the plateau she went, the lower the ground would sink. Eventually, trees would begin to pop up all around. She liked the trees better, they held far more life within them. Getting to watch squirrels race across the branches always made the day a little better. They moved so fast! It was delightful to follow after them and see what happened. Sometimes, they would lose their race, and fall from the tree. By the time they hit the ground, they were usually a tasty snack.
