And out of a couple of boulders bounded a rabbit straight for her. Her eyes flinging wide open, she lunged forward purely on instinct, her jaws latching around the terrified, exhausted rabbit with little mercy. A quick crunch, and the rabbit was dead, dangling loosely from her jaws. What had been chasing the rabbit? Something clearly had, and as the wind shifted, she smelled a rather familiar scent. Her eyes widening in shock and disbelief, she warily padded around the rocks... to see a more than familiar form shaking his head.
The rabbit dropped from her mouth as she gaped in shock. "Alarik?" she gasped, before snapping her mouth shut and swallowing hard. How long had it been? How many seasons? Way too many, for sure. They were now adults, and the last time she'd seen anyone of her family, they'd been yearlings. Her littermates, anyway. The older twins... they'd be even older. Wow.
