A lot like the wind

The girl had never been to the East before, but with the coming of spring, she craved something different than the unending and dismal white cover of the North. She wanted to see all the colours of the world, and she knew those were limited in the place she'd been born. Here in the East, things had already proven very interesting and different. Now she'd come across these hot pools of water. While she had seen different forms of hot water in the North, they hadn't been approachable or safe to enter. This was different. She grinned in amusement to herself as she dipped her paw in one of the pools, feeling the warmth but not feeling scalded. Why, she could almost jump right in if she fancied it; and she could come out soaking wet and not freeze to death, too. She was tempted, and thought she might just do it.
But before she could make a dive into the steaming pool of water, she spotted a large, dark figure through the steam. So far she couldn't recognize it - she didn't think it was Mara - but then again, she couldn't really see clearly. "Hey!" she barked, nails digging into the stone surrounding the water, "Who's there!?" Her silver, emerald-specked gaze was narrowed as she peered through the mist, waiting to see if the wolf would show themselves. If not, she intended on going to them.
