I will lay me down

CAORA FLURA Caora trodded through the soft and springy grass, head dipped to the ground. Ever since she was back to being on her own, the she-wolf's paws seemed to drag a bit more each day. She didn't know what to do with herself, she had no structure. For almost two weeks now she'd just been wandering aimlessly. She hadn't seen another wolf apart from Lorell for months, she didn't even know if these parts were inhabited. If she was smart, Caora'd head North to where she knew wolves were, however she'd grown quite attached to Auster. After wandering most of the day, Caora now found herself next to a gurgling river. The clean smell of running water along with the sharp musk of the pines opened Caora's eyes. She swivelled around on the spot. How on earth had she managed to find somewhere so pretty without even noticing? Deciding to dip her paws in the water, Caora headed over to the surprisingly calm river and stood just at the edge. What the girl was not counting on, however, was the shore to be so slippy. Before she could realise, Caora found herself dunked completely into the river. She surfaced a moment later, gasping with the cold and looking like a drowned white rat. Dragging herself upright, Caora stood for a moment, blue and pink eyes wide, just letting the water pour down her and back into the, embarrassingly, not-deep-at-all river. Thank god no one was here to see that. |
