FEAR NO EVIL

The shifting of the sand made very little noise as another would approach. Hackles would stir, audits swivelling to capture the sounds of a stranger. The herald was quite good at sensing the presence of others. His suspicions were confirmed when a soft, feminine voice rang out. "The water cooling you down? If you travel further north it gets colder." She said, and the golden male arranged his feet beneath himself. Rising from the waves, he plodded to shore slowly. Gauging by the way the water slowly slunk down his limbs, he knew he was going the right way.

"That it is, miss. Of course, that is simply a happy coincidence. My intention was to cleanse the sins from my mortal vessel." He rumbled, a tiny and awkward smile toying at his lips. Many found him strange for his ways, but it was how he was raised to conduct himself. "I will make note of that though, I feel I may fare better further north." He added, pupilless sea foam gaze focusing upon something just over her shoulder. She smelled of many other wolves, a pack. She also bore the aroma of greenery, which was sorely lacking in this area. Not a local, evidently. The lingering musk of oestrus also clung to her pelt, which enticed him marginally, as a bitch in heat should.

"Apologies, miss. My name is Gabriel Morningstar." He offered, dipping his head politely to her. A small, friendly wag of his tail was meant to illustrate that he meant no harm. "If I may be so bold as to ask, what would a lady such as yourself be doing so far from the safety and comforts of her pack?" he questioned softly, brow quirking just so. Despite not knowing the intent or meaning behind facial expressions, some things were simply ingrained in the DNA.
