When It Feels So Hopeless; Smile Again

He was growing bigger and stronger by the day, and if he was lucky one day the little grey smudge would grow to be at least as big as his parents. That'd be pretty cool, though what he really wanted was to be even bigger, like feli. The idea made him grin, pearly whites flashing as he batted at a low-hanging branch, leaping up into the air and taking a bit of a tumble due to the less than graceful landing. Eventually he'd have some coordination, once he grew into these stupidly awkward legs... He hoped so at least. It would suck if he just stumbled all over the place his whole life. His brothers would tease him to no end!
Hopping up from his prone position sprawled out on the ground, Amos set to wandering through the orchard, gazing up at the fruit trees and their pretty green leaves with curious bi-colored eyes. The wind caused everything to rustle a bit, golden light filtered down to light the space, it was all so much for his puppy senses to take in. A burst of boyish energy sent him racing through the trees, jumping over obstacles, ducking under a fallen log, he moved as fast as his little legs could carry him. It was all going just fine until just after he scrambled around a bend and managed to get his hind leg caught on a root, causing him to hit the dirt hard with a loud thud!
As soon as he recovered his first reaction was to try and fight the thing that had caused him to fall, squirming around to gnaw at the root with as fierce a growl as he could manage, brows knitted tightly together to express his irritation at the situation. He'd become so caught up in seeking revenge for the sudden fall and the pain caused by his leg being caught that he'd still neglected to free himself from his predicament so absorbed was the little one in his great battle.
