Then they went on to say the pearly gates
Brandr felt confident that whatever happened he could carry on all right. He'd survived the fall of his own pack, the loss of his father and of his mother and if it was required for him to try another pack he would. However, he couldn't help but wonder about Corentine and her family. It was painful to be uprooted when you had a family and he just hoped that regardless of who ended up ruling the pack that it would be able to continue.
Corentine stated that she couldn't sleep either and at the mention of being his hunting partner his ears perked up and he smiled. "I would love a hunting partner. Any particular quarry you were thinking of? I thought I might see if we can pick off some ducks sleeping in the reeds." Brandr stood and stretched for a moment, rolling his shoulders slowly to prep himself for the hunt. "Do you want to start tracking or shall I?"
At least, that was his original plan. As he glanced at the sky he frowned and shook his head. "Actually, Corentine, it's getting really late. Maybe we can hunt another time but I think both of us should get some rest. Goodnight!" He offered her a warm smile and headed back for his den. Early morning was a good time to hunt and with the pack so divided he couldn't count on them coming together to feed everyone. It was going to be a long day.
