Bulls In The Bronx [Raid]
Regulus Anatolii Adravendi |
Yes, the pain was great, but he had honestly felt worse, and he knew injuries could heal, particularly with the skill level Paladin possessed for such a young healer. He knew his more unorthodox attacks had missed, but at least she’d released his tail. He’d already shut off the water-works, so to say, and was calculating quickly, moving with the flow.
Even as his teeth slashed into her back, he sought to thrust his hind end away, pivoting on his front paws as he threw his hind end around to his own right, seeking to bring himself at a 90-degree angle with her right hip, paws settling into a balanced stance. Her jaws would find nothing but air to bite, her right foreleg also missing its desired wrap about his left hind limb.
Regulus’ eyes slanted a glance toward hers, lids narrowed protectively, but calm. No desperation lay in his fathomless sapphires, just calculation, and perhaps a glint of mild understanding of her ambitious nature. His ears were still flattened to his skull, hackles raised and tail, throbbing though it was, held once again level with his spine. He dug his claws into the ground as he thrust himself forward and sought to slam the center of his chest into her right hip, just below the edge of her pelvis, seeking to stagger her with his larger weight.
Simultaneously, his left foreleg snapped up, weight shifting neatly onto his other three legs – the toes of each supporting paw spreading to add to his balance – and he sought to wrap his left front paw across to her left hind leg, wishing to snag his left front paw around the outside of Valdis’ left hind hock and drag it toward himself, hoping to unbalance her with that and the shove combined.
His left shoulder thrust forward, aiming for the soft part of her flank, aiming for a point just ahead of her right thigh as his head angled to his left, jaws parting as he sought to once again gain a grip on her back, this time aiming to rake his canines into the lacerations he’d left already, wanting to worsen the injuries and gain a savage hold that might sink deep enough to damage her spine and render her hind legs useless.
