It was clear that the girl hadn't been expecting company - she didn't even notice Vali until Vali had called out. Not that the alpha could blame her; on a small island connected by a strip of land only during certain times of the day, she wouldn't be alert and expecting company either. Either way, Vali took it as a good sign that the other didn't run or react in a hostile manner. Suspicious and wary, maybe, but that was still better than aggression.
Vali's tail started wagging, almost of it's own accord, at the returned greeting from the younger wolf. Why? Why not - she was happy, she was calm, she was relaxed. It seems the other wolf wanted to be friendly as well, though a bit tense... but that was alright. She gave the other a reassuring smile, before answering. "I'm here to see what herbs are on the island. I'm a healer by trade. What about you?"
