Spider allowed himself a soft chuckle at Gabe’s comment about being used to the cold. He did seem quite cold all things considered. Spider’s pelt was more plush and soft despite the bare patches where he had nervously plucked away his fur, but the male seemed more than a little uncomfortable. He mentioned the weather being nicer at this time of the year and he had to laugh again. “F-f-f-for now.” He said, his tone light with an almost playful quality to it. “It’s a-alm-m-most unl-l-iveable a-a-a-after A-Autumn.” He explained the stutter receding now that he was more relaxed.
Gabe asked if Echo was a bird and he gave the loud hooting laugh of his species as a response. “Kookaburra.” He said chipperly and puffed out his feathers. The bird had reached the same conclusion his companion had a while ago; the other male was completely blind. The bird wondered if Spider knew some way to heal him, but from the way the male had been huddled into a tight ball of nerves when he arrived he doubted it.
