The second he saw her, so despondent and hurt he felt his heart ache painfully. He wanted to comfort her, to beg her to come with him, his mouth opened and he felt the words catch in his throat. He looked at Sparrow then back to Aranea.“Come with me” He wanted to say, but couldn’t seem to manage it. He could only hope his expression; desperate and begging would be enough to sway her into leaving Abaven with him.
He swallowed hard. “I’m going.” He said quietly, his eyes on the ground but all of his attention on her. Would she come with him? Would Sparrow let her? Or would she force the girl to stay just to spite him. It was up to her, he wouldn’t decide anything for her, bu he knew in that moment that whether it was today or four years from now, whether his pack achieved the greatness he desired or died before they could ever be achieved, she would always have a place beside him. |
