His pace slowed slightly as he picked up a scent of a opossum, not his first choice in prey, but he was hungry so it would do. Though he was an alert individual, he did not pick up on the wolf that had him in her sights. He quietly fallowed the trail, which led forward in the same direction he had been going before. The animal had to have passed through just minutes before because the trail was fairly fresh which meant there was a good chance he would be able to catch up to the creature and take it down. Since these creatures liked to play dead it shouldn't be hard at all to kill one of them.
He moved along the path, ears pinned forward to take in any sounds nearby. It was quiet for the most part, up until an audible sigh came from ahead making him freeze in his spot. Lifting his head up his bi colored gaze looked forward before spotting the dark figure ahead of him. His tail twitched as his mind thought over his options. He was still in the dark and it would be fairly easy for him to turn and slip away without an interaction at all. It was his first instinct, to avoid rather then confront another. Though his stomach twisted into a knot and gave a pathetic growl reminding him of how hungry he was.
He rolled his eyes at the quiet sound his stomach made before he dropped his head back to the ground and picking his trail back up. The animal's trail would lead right by the figure ahead, but he needed to eat and decided to continue on the prey's trail. If the figure confronted him, then he would deal with that when it happened. Moving forward again she fallowed the creatures trail.
