The song of Sorrow

She awoke to find Clay and Kaitlyn had already left the den, likely to hunt or something. Baldwin was still curled up, sleeping soundly, but Tempest wasn't that eager to stay put. Getting up she shook out her coat and let out a sigh. Her golden gaze shifted to the outside world with curiosity... The smell of fruit was wafting into the den. Surely her cousin and Kait wouldn't mind if she explored a little! Quietly she slipped away from Baldy and out into the open to take a deep breath of fresh air.

The world around her no longer seemed so scary. She was getting older now and wiser... Stronger... The wind ruffled he coat and before Tempest knew it a wave of sadness overcame her. She'd been growing away from her family... Did they still remember her? Did her mama miss her? A sigh passed her lips and Tempest curled her tail around her paws. A low, sorrowful song began to slip past her lips, though she didn't expect anyone to answer her.
