He couldn’t help the smile that pulled onto his features at her words as his eyes followed hers to the rounding side that contained their first progeny. He wouldn’t be surprised, either. With him being bright red, and Baine being albino, color and uniqueness ran in his side of the family. He’d never met Solveiga’s family, he regretted to think, but she, herself carried her own beautifully unique traits.
From the lovely simplicity of her markings to the earthy creams of her coat and the lovely, warm sky blue eyes, she was sure to put her own stamp on their children, and a grin split his jaws at the thought of a bunch of dappled butts running through the den.
“However they look, however many there are, they will be perfect. As you are.” His tongue swiped across her cheek. He had no doubts that she would be a perfect mother, and he could only hope that he would be a wonderful father. He wanted to be there for every step, every first. On a more political side of things, he hoped that he would be able to impart all that he had ever been taught about leadership and teamwork to his offspring. A soft sigh slipped free as he slipped a forepaw over her back, angling back to rest against her belly, hoping to feel a ripple of movement beneath his pads.
