The yearling bolted towards him, and Acere's lips would curl back in a silent snarl. He didn't know how much experience the boy had in this field, if any, though so far to the titan's critical eye...wasn't much. As Tyranis closed the distance between them, Acere would set his defenses up before making a move of his own. Hackles rose along his spine, tail flagging out to align parallel to the ground as his head lowered, chin tucking over his throat. Lips curled back to expose glistening fangs while the skin around his face bunched up for further protection. Crimson gaze narrowed, ears pinned flat to his skull while his toes splayed and claws bit the earth for traction. Finally, he rocked his weight onto his hind legs for a moment, hind legs coiling for a second or two before he launched himself forward.

Just as Tyranis sought to close the distance, Acere would bend his joints to bring himself slightly lower to the ground, attempting to align his head and shoulders with Tyranis' lower chest as they came at one another head on. Snarling, Ace sought to jut his chest straight into Ty's sternum in an attempt to drive the air from the youths lungs as well as to knock him off his feet. Ty's forelegs would catch the top of his back, but since his (ace's) head had lowered for his frontal assault, Ty's legs would find no grip upon his neck. Likewise, Tyranis' fangs would not find the purchase he so desired upon his nose, but instead would clip the top of Acere's skull, leaving no more than a light cut on the center of his skull.

"Don't compromise your balance!" He growled. He figured if he'd be teaching this boy, might as well start now, right? As soon as those words left his mouth, he turned his head sharply to his right and upward, jaws gaping open as he aimed a bite upon Tyranis' throat dead center. He'd teach this boy the dangers of leaving himself exposed, just enough to learn from such potentially fatal mistakes. As he did this, his left forepaw reached for Ty's right hindpaw. He sought to hook it around Ty's ankle in an attempt to drag it forward to try and force the youth onto the ground, further trying to disrupt his balance.
