Just Talkin' To Myself, Don't Mind Me
Kaitlyn was scared. She was convinced that no one could really help her. Baldwin had run off. Clay had his paws full with trying to help both Tempest and herself… and Kait? What was she other than a burden?
She stopped, breathing hard, the small female trembling from the rate she’d been pushed herself. She was tired. She wanted to rest.. But Mad and Proxy were relentless within her, whispering threats, whispering promises that things were only going to get worse. It was hard to tell if Proxy really cared what happened to the vessel… so long as she had fun she was fine… and Mad? Nothing he wanted made logical sense… his line of thought was chaos alone.
‘Go ahead and run, little girl…’ Mad’s voice mocked her within her head. She squeezed her green eyes shut, whimpering softly. “Stop it.” Kaitlyn let out a soft groan, her mind getting dizzy, and before she knew it darkness edged at her vision, drawing her into it’s embrace.
Only Kaitlyn didn’t pass out. Not exactly. She’d been drawn back into her body as Proxy and Mad fought for who would take control of the vessel for a period of time. A moment later, when those green eyes opened, the female’s expression had changed.
“Tough luck, Mad. Looks like I win this round.” Proxy puffed out her chest proudly, hearing the grumbles of her companion within. “Oh come now love, don’t pout. I’m sure you’ll be allowed out to play sooner or later. Kaitlyn is growing weak again.” The girl’s emotions played a big part in if her alters could emerge. The more overwhelmed and stressed Kait made herself, the more likely one of them would surface.
“My… what a dreary place this is… huh. Where on Earth has Kaitlyn gotten us this time?” The alter looked around, feeling unamused. “Gods… this is boring. Might as well see what trouble we can stir up, eh Mad? If you’re nice I might even let you play too.”
