One heck of a start

Maple wilted at the news that this exuberant woman was also lost. Great, now Maple was lost with someone overwhelmingly peppy. What a day. Her lip nearly quivered at the thought of being stuck in here forever and ever, starving to death in stupid caves cause she was too much a fool to think before she went wandering in new places. Sinking into a mental pit of despair of her own making, the girl probably would have continued to fall deep into this rut she made for herself if it hadn't been for the russet woman breaking her focus and dragging her brain back to reality where not all hope was lost - just her hope of ever being a reasonable, well adjusted individual. Ears perking to listen at Rani's words, Maple's expression flickered with indecision. Sure, she could go wandering with this girl. Two pairs of eyes were better than one. But, what if they just got more lost and wandered further into the caves instead of out without realizing it and they just kept going and going and realized their mistakes too late when they were already half dead and- realizing she looked like she was about to die of fear, and being totally unreasonable as per usual, Maple forced herself to laugh, an awkward, insincere laugh more directed at herself than anything else. "Ah, no, you're fine, really!" Smiling weakly, she added, "Looking together sounds cool, can't make us any more lost, right?" Oh gosh she sure hoped not. Glancing around, the petite woman chirped, "And, food does sound pretty good." Her stomach then growled as if in agreement and Maple blushed profusely. Why'd it have to be so loud? Actions. "Speak" "Think." |
