ooc: Next round due by December 23. If there isn't any questions feel free to have your character state they fallow Frost to the herd. My next post will lead them to the herd for the first move.
His body was ready for a good hunt and the excitement of the chase and the kill was settling in his bones. This left him unable to sit down and antsy to get the hunt done. What made him even more nervous was the amount of wolves that would come that hunting didn't come that easy to. It made him nervous for injuries and even worse, but without calling them all together there was no guarantee that he would have enough willing to help him out. First to arrive was Rory and Frost greeted him with a smile and a wag of his tail as he questioned what was on the menu today. "A large stroke of luck... Hopefully. A small herd of Elk is moving through, my assumption is the herd wants to cut through to end up in the east where there is more forests. and this snow is perfect to ware them down in, easy for us to move and hard for them," he replied his smile turning towards more of an excited grin. Jewell then trickled in next and he smiled to her. She didn't know how to help, but that would be alright Frost would explain to everyone what the plan was. He hoped it all worked in their favor. "Don't worry I'll explain once everyone is here," he said his smile softening a bit. He watched the rest trickle in his gut knotting up more and more. He hoped his plan would work, they all needed a decent meal especially Rin. When Rin arrived Frost's eyes glazed with worry seeing how scraggy the male looked. If he didn't get proper meals Frost feared the winter would take him from this world. He understood why it seemed the prey was more abundant despite the wicked winter weather. Without someone hunting consistently the area was getting more populated with prey. He attention was pulled away as Star came up beside him With ten others attending he felt he had enough to split for the two targets he had picked out, while Star stayed afar to watch for distress and injuries. Right now by the looks of Rin he may end up being a patient of hers today so he nodded in agreement with her. He then cleared his throat to announce his plan. "Thank you all for coming and I know hunting may not be everyone's skill, right now with our lack of pack hunters we need everyone to pitch in. Today could be a big day for all of us if we can work together. We have a small herd of elk cutting through our territory, slowly heading East, within that herd I have a cow and this years calf picked out for a target." he began. "Now with this snow and the way we are built we are easy to walk and run on top of the hard crust, but for them they are heavy so my plan I feel is fairly simple. We cut the too from the herd and chase, now I do not want you overexerting yourselves, save your energy. With this snow and us on their heels they should wear themselves out. Then we split, five on the calf & five on the cow. The cow we will need to jump on first so she isn't attacking the group after her calf. Stay away from hooves and head, find a good grip on the flanks and the shoulders to weigh the animal down and once they are down make the kill. Rin if your up for it I would like you to take Zuriel, Dealos, Torin, & Kairi to take down the calf. Zell, Rory, Jewell, & Breasal your with me on the cow. Any questions before we head out?" |
