His brows winced as the woman spat at him, eyes clenching shut as he tried to think. He wanted to reach out the the only woman he loved but it was like he was locked behind bars with a muzzle over his face.

He hissed through his teeth as he tried to speak, his eyes still closed, and would attempt a step towards her. To no real success, his leg would give out but he would regain himself quickly, still seeming dizzy on his paws. "Mamm-" He stopped himself abruptly, realizing he was wrong with a shake of his head, "...Ava?" He questioned and a single eyelid dared to look up at her.

His stance was probably unlike anything she had seen before, head lowered and almost looked cowering, but his expressions showed udder confusion. It was like he were a tiny pup again, though the tears were absent from their mother's death, but it had to be a look worth remembering. Especially for the woman who knew every one of his weaknesses.

He needed help and she probably couldn't do much for him.
