A Shadow of the Past
He had been on patrol when the call stopped him in his tracks. There was something eerily familiar in the deep bellow that had emerged from the Mile High Woods although he couldn’t exactly place how or why. He responded to the howl with a call of his own and sprinted briskly toward the source, lost in his thoughts. Who could it have been?
He had had a similar experience when Legion and his unknown brother arrived; a sense of déjà vu that he couldn’t fully place; he remembered a cave, and someone speaking to him rudely, quite possibly for the first time in his life although when he thought back to who he had spoken to that night, all he could recall were burning red eyes.
He stopped on a hill, overlooking the border of his lands and froze instantly. The battered beast was massive and for a moment he wondered if this was some kind of an attack. His fears were quelled by the distinct lack of pack scent on the gargantuan male and after successfully swallowing his fear The Lightning Bolt made his way toward the beast, his head raised proudly.
The instant he saw the male’s eyes his fears subsided. “Kane.” He said, almost surprised although his features remained carefully neutral. His jaws parted in an easy smile, his tail raised at half mast and curled at the end in a friendly gesture. “You look like hell.” He said and chuckled lightly.
