The voice of a man wouldn't even startle her, as it should have with what the man suspected, because of her being a new mother. It wouldn't even put her on edge even with her recognizing his scent not only from Dauntless, but from Abaven too.

"No..." She shouted into a more quiet tone, "I'm uh, doing fine, thank you." She didn't know if the brute would come around to actually talk to her or only wished to see her doing okay.

Most didn't know the scent of newborn pups unless they had aided in a birth or given life themselves. Or maybe that of a large family of wolves. She would act like he hadn't noticed her pups but would remain in the mouth of her den and even take a seat if she felt the need to get comfortable.
