You Can Fool Yourself

As spring came back over Boreas her first heat season passed, fading into the wind as winter left the world for a couple seasons. Elpis was now officially a young adult, though still separate from her fathers and brother whom she assumed she’d never meet again. But she had come to accept this fact… after all, so long as she had her friend, her best friend, then she’d be alright.

Viho had become Elpis’ rock. He had been there through the hard times, helped save her life on more than one occasion. She was grateful to him. Elpis had swore, in secrecy, to follow Viho to the ends of the Earth; he was her family now. The young woman was sure that in return for his kindness she wanted to broaden her knowledge of healing. Whereas her friend was built for fighting, for strength, she was not…

So why not be as helpful to him as she could?

Elpis was on the search currently for herbs, the afternoon sun shining down upon her tan, brown, and white coat. Bi-colored gaze of gold and green scanned the ground, her nose twitching as she searched for the flora that could be useful. She figured that Viho was either training or hunting, helping her build up strength after Forsaken’s last appearance… which hadn’t been for some time now. Elpis was beginning to feel confident the man had pissed off the wrong person and was now dead.

Pretty soon it’d be time for them to start searching for Viho’s family. Her ears perked and Elpis paused, lifting her head as she looked around the area. This place was both a horrific place of nightmares and, in some ways, a place of hope. She closed her eyes, a small smirk playing upon her lips. Life could be rather… ironic...
