With every word that passed her friend's lips the resolute hatred that she had for herself began to break down. He was chipping away at her with every kind word he said. When he looked at her, he saw all of the good in her that she had never tried to see. All she saw when she looked at herself was a wolf with a scattered consciousness and no real plans for her future and no home. He saw so many things about her personality that she hadn't even considered about herself. The stress melted off of her shoulders as he spoke and her expression softened into nothing short of tender awe. He was so sweet and kind to her. She didn't know what she would do without him. His nuzzle and kiss was the final straw she needed to pull herself out of the depression she had spiraled into.

She finally lifted her gaze from the floor of the small cave to look into his cerulean eyes, tears sparkling in the corners of her eyes. Her voice was nothing more than a pained whisper when she spoke. "I'm just scared, Gael. My mind didn't used to be so... so scattered. It used to be cut in half, my old memories and my new memories. But now it feels like it's all getting more and more blurred, more and more broken... What is it going to be like a year or two from now? What if... what if I go insane?" She choked out the last few words as the tears that had pooled in the corners of her teal eyes rolled down her cheeks. She was genuinely afraid for herself now. She pressed her face into the soft fur on his neck, needing to feel the comfort that his touch brought and not wanting her friend that she cared so deeply for to see her cry any more.

"Speech."
