He only raised his brows intriguingly at her reactions, stopping where she spoke which was well past a barrier but obviously not far enough for her to lash out. He may have had more wicked intentions but he wasn't all bad. Maybe he wanted to lure them in first, he did happen to live down the block from her unknowingly.

"Oh, hush..." He spoke calmly though ever so full of his smirky grin. "There's no need to be afraid of me," oh boy that was a lie. Maybe not out of his lips but in a long run, yes. "Come on, I can help you, what do you need done?" His eyes wandered around the grounds and then the trees, pulling her into a hidden trap. But he could plan later things, he wasn't interested in scaring off the girl who could potentially be his friend now, right? Maybe even Mammon's, he was getting excited thinking about it. They could even scrounge off her if they had to.
