Valdís turned to see a large yearling standing there, staring at her with startling green eyes that seemed as verdant as the garden. Her own emerald gaze narrowed warily. In her eyes he was a scrappy youth so she doubted he posed that much of a threat but when he introduced himself as Ashiel Abraxas her thoughts immediately went to Pyralis, the nutty loner she'd met sometime back but perhaps she'd heard the surname wrong.
