She grinned at him coyly. "Promises, promises." Maybe it was her heat that had her acting this way but once the fight was sent to begin it was like a switch went on in her head. Her defenses fell swiftly into position, her emerald eyes focused and intent as he barreled toward her. Her best hope would be to rely on her speed but she wanted to press right into him, head on and bold, soaked in her own wants and her own trickeries. If this little boy wanted to be a man so bad, fine. They crashed into each other but not before Valdís ducked her head and rotated it sharply to her left seeking to catch the boys throat in her jaws. His fangs clipped the right side of her forehead but failed to grab a hold as he carried himself right into her open jaws. Her jaws snapped shut on his throat but there was a good deal of fur, fat and muscle. That was fine, she knew it would take work to pierce the vulnerable veins and arteries beneath all this and her goal was mostly to scare him.

Valdís inner celebration though was cut short as his chest slammed into hers, bending her neck painfully and sending her skidding backward but she didn't fall. His arms were around the base of his neck and she swiftly wrapped her own arms around his his. They were pressed in close, blood tinted the air and she could practically feel his heart hammering in his chest. Did he feel hers? Had she had full capacity of her senses she'd have wondered what she was thinking.
