Where the Buffalo Roam
Moving across the knolls, he paused at the top of a rise when a small herd of buffalo came into view. Part of him wanted to rush down and scatter the herd, the other part of him told him not to. He didn't know if one of the bulls might charge at him if it decided to perceive him as a threat, not that one lone wolf could take any of them down. But still, large prey animals like that were often unpredictable and he wouldn't take his chances. Moving along, he soon spotted another male similarly colored like himself. He stopped several feet away, unsure about how to proceed. Did he approach? Or did he keep his distance? He smelled of a pack, and the slightest hint of longing flickered in his mind. Was being in a pack even worth it? The life of a loner wasn't too bad. After all, he had managed to survive on his own for this long...hesitant, Cepheus remained where he was and pretended not to notice the other male...
