No more counting dollars

With a cackle Jupiter sprang forward suddenly and took off running. He'd lulled Amadeus into a false sense of security by being agreeable the whole time they'd been in the packlands, but it was all a ruse to get the tamarin to loosen his grip on Jupiter's scruff. No more. He'd threatened to tattle on him one too many times and it was payback time. A little terror might do him some good.

After bucking like a broncho Jupiter chased after his tail for several rotations before suddenly jumping straight up and taking off again. For the life of him he couldn't run a straight line and - still cackling - almost ran head first into a tree. He just barely scraped by; so close in fact that the usually stoic Amadeus squealed and buried his face in Jupiter's scruff.

He could see a pool up ahead and that gave him an idea. Amadeus had made his disdain for deep water known. Wouldn't it be fun to go for a swim? He might even dive for fish...

Laughing maniacally, Jupiter veered off suddenly and dove towards the pool. As the boy became airborne, Amadeus worked up the courage to bail. He was afraid of jumping off when Jupiter was running flat out, but he was more afraid of the water and there was no way he was going for a swim.

Amadeus was clear of the pool and up a tree before Jupiter hit the water. He became aware of two things as he climbed: they weren't alone and the 'others' were in the splash zone.
