they call me bookworm
The young male stated the obvious. "You hit me," with a blank, stunned look on his face. Oh gods, she'd broken him. How was she supposed to explain this to mama? What about Jupiter's mama? Both of them would be so mad that she broke him with the beating stick. Watching him slowly arrange all of his legs beneath him, she worried he might die. What if she somehow broke all of his bones? It was a monster beating stick she'd hit him with, and he was just a lil' pup like her!
Jupiter wobbled to his feet, proving himself to not be dying. "It's okay, I'm alright, see? Wow, that's a good beatin' stick..." Oh right, she'd come here for a reason. Pale toes extended, seeking to rub some of the congealed dirt from the stick. Her pup drool had made it a bit dirty once she'd dropped it. "Your turn," she mumbled, looking between the stick and her friend. "waited much long to bring to you.." Yeah, she'd been a pretty sucky friend. Sath would have called her a shitty friend, but Da said that was a not good word. "Sorry." Sorrowful features would be turned upon her friend, hoping he wasn't too mad that she'd kept it all this time. She'd just been so proud of it! It was so nice, and everyone was jealous.
"Jup' keep, maybe? I go away, maybe. Mama looking for shaman, Da want go away from home." He'd been talking to the other, bigger siblings late at night. He hadn't thought Divo heard him, or that she was awake then, but she was. She didn't want to leave her friend, or her home. What the heck was out there, anyway?
