Bright Morning Stars [Monster]

Early morning dawned in a dark and quiet hush as Aerndis stalked through the steppe. She'd caught an interesting scent that seemed like deer but slightly different. Was she doing this right? Her ears flicked as she strode along. Morning, she was learning, was a fantastic time to hunt during the summer. It was cool and pleasant and many animals were either still sleeping or just beginning to stir. She gazed out across the steppe and in the distance she spied some orange and white shapes. Hmm… maybe those were the weird deer she was smelling. Her stomach rumbled and she sighed. Living on her own was much more difficult than she thought it would be. Part of Aerndis thought she should turn back and try to find her family but she'd been separated from them for several weeks. She didn't even know where to begin.
