Evading Slumber

Soon she could see the form of Brandr in the distance and instantly she felt relief wash over her. She saw him approach and smiled her tail lightly wagging. She stood to greet him, smile still on her face and her golden eyes lighting up. She knew he would ask what she was doing up, but really she could ask the same thing. She didn't know he had just returned from traveling. When he asked she looked away from him slightly not wanting to dump everything on him, but not able to lie to him either.She sat down before looking back to him.

"I can't sleep tonight, to much running through my mind," she answered. "How comes your out and about at this hour?"

Her ear flicked back at the rumble of thunder in the distance. She had also seen the distant lighting and wondered if maybe they would be getting a storm tonight. If they did maybe if she could focus on that it would help lull her to sleep. She didn't know how else to get to sleep and she didn't want to be up all night and feel like a zombie in the morning.
