Before he could pin it, the crab righted itself and took off, zig-zagging towards the water. Well, that wouldn't do. Committed now, Malleus took off after it, matching it zig for zig. After a few feet he got close enough to kick it again. Once more the crab went sailing, toppling end over end before landing on its back. With the crab flailing wildly and on the verge of righting itself, Malleis slapped a paw down on its belly hard enough to grind it into the sand. Carefully so as not to get pinched, Malleus snatched off one of its claws. He crunched through shell and grit, casually eating the meat inside while the aggrieved crab continued to flail. Malleus was about to go after the second claw when a bark alerted him to the presence of another. He licked his lips and straightened, his gaze landing on the small, sand-colored woman almost immediately. He regarded her curiously, openly studying her as she approached. He first look for signs of ill intent and seeing none, allowed himself to relax a bit. He really needed to be going; to eat his meal with haste and continue on his mission, but... The pack was in good hands; what would it hurt to take a few extra minutes to converse with a pretty woman? His expression open and amicable, he said with a chuckle, "Ah, hello! Here I was thinking I could make a fool of myself without any witnesses." |
