It was too bad no one else in the pack had expressed this interest lately. It could be more than frustrating to find himself as the only wolf on the prowl for several days in a row. Except for a couple of wolves on border patrol, the pack lands always seemed empty, and few of the pack's warriors ever had showed any interest in pack hunts anyway. He sighed. Ambitious was hard to satisfy when there was no chance for advancement because the pack was simply too quiet to respond to leadership. It made him miss the days when he had led. "Perhaps we turn our gazes to the hares, yes? Since we are only we two, and I do not believe we shall succeed should we try for pronghorn."
