A hardened heart still beats

Erani |
The male was unwilling to move as they harried and baited him. He didn?t need to, it soon turned out. Obsidian arrived, charging the male, hooves striking out at him. He evaded her, and Erani moved while he was thoroughly caught off guard. She darted over to Rayne, aiming a nudge to the female?s shoulder, one ear and eye toward the male. She intended to shepherd the confused wolf out of the fight and out of danger. She?d have to speak to Chrysanthe about Obsidian?s performance. She wasn?t sure what promotion Obsidian could get, but it was obvious that Cormalin?s training wasn?t going to waste. She felt a great deal of pleasure at the male?s confusion. True, horses were usually food, but Obsidian?s fearless demeanor and steadfast befriending of Cormalin had ended in her becoming a member of Valhalla. There were still a few curious looks tossed the horse?s way, but it was fully understood that the horse was family, not food. Erani kept guard over Rayne, gently nudging her toward the edges of the area, and out of sight. |
