She too had winced when things crashed around, but it hadn't been her fault. There had been no need of him to show any anger, and he didn't. She seemed friendly enough so far and her offer of help made him smile. It was nice of her to ask, they were strangers and she didn't need to help him at all.
Then suddenly she seemed to focus on something in particular and he tried to fallow her gaze, but at first didn't see it from where he was. She then went over and gently picked it up in her mouth and pulled it from the pile. When his eyes saw it they lit up in joy. She carried it over to him and he grinned.
