Like A Thousand Stars

Aerndis gave her coat another good shake, sighing at her fur sticking up in all sorts of places. At least autumn had been warmer so far but she'd have to be more careful in the future. Winter was not a good time to trip into a lake. She supposed it was a sign of maturing that her survival was starting to weigh heavier on her mind. She'd been lucky so far, surviving on scavenged meals and the few hunting experiences she was able to have with other loners. Slowly she was developing her own skills as well but she was still a bit underweight and struggling to get the hang of living on her own.

She jumped as a voice spoke and she turned her head to see a gorgeous, creme-colored woman staring at her with a ruby gaze. The woman seemed really nice and Aerndis bounded toward her, tail wagging. "Hello!" Hey, maybe the woman would want to go exploring with her! That was one way to turn the sour situation of getting drenched around. It hadn't even occurred to her the other might have seen her prat fall into the lake.

Aerndis shook her head as the woman asked if she was lost. "Nope," she chirped. Then she hesitated. Well… technically she supposed she was since she didn't know where her family was but she'd been lost so long she wasn't sure she could really call it being 'lost' any more. "My name is Aerndis, what's yours? Do you want to come exploring with me?"
