The morning breeze ruffled his fur, the male's bi-colored gaze watching the scenery below. He was standing precariously close to the edge of the canyon, and at any moment it was possible the ledge beneath his paws might break if he applied anymore weight there. But it didn't. He stepped back and was about to turn away when he caught sight of something moving from the corner of his eye. He returned to the ledge, body low to the ground as his head looked over the ledge he was perched on. The way a cat might stare down at something from its high seat. He watched the wolf make his way into the canyon, hugging the wall to avoid falling in maybe? He was amused by this. Living in the north where Dauntless once called home made him cautious, yes. At any moment he could have slipped down the mountain or fallen into the ice cold water. But other times, he gambled with it. He wasn't as careful, especially when he was hunting because all he was focused on was that.
He wondered if the other had found something. Or if he was simply exploring? Either way, Cloud wouldn't pass up the chance to find out. If the other was hunting, then maybe they would be interested in hunting together. And if not? Then Cloud had no problem following the male down a safe path to find his own food. Turning away from the ledge, he hurried to find a path that might take him to where the other guy was, but he didn't know where exactly he had entered from. Instead, Cloud ended up finding a different path, one that was right above the path that Lais took. He could smell the other male though, noting he was from a pack but he didn't know which pack.
Once within range, he let out a light bark to alert the other he was approaching. The ledge that Cloud was on was a good ten feet above the other male. Cloud slowed down until he was right above him, peering down with curiosity. "Hey uh...do you know these canyons?" A vague question, but he wasn't very good at talking to strangers. |
